Matriarchy And Patriarchy

Complementarianism is just the erroneous philosophy holding that men and women have different nonphysical traits or at least different moral obligations that the should pursue even if they do not have the personal desire to.  It does not have to have the trappings of the happenstance stereotypes and pressures that even modern America gravitates towards, such as the idea that men are better leaders than women, that only women want to be physically beautiful, that women are little to nothing more than sexual objects, that men cannot be raped or should welcome or be unconcerned with violence against them, and so on.  All of these are only strands of a very specific kind of complementarianism that has been popular in its religious (but entirely unbiblical) and secular versions, but that is just as arbitrary as any other kind of sexism against either women or men.  When so many people think about the concepts of patriarchy and matriarchy, they are often too stupid to think of anything beyond two things: a brutal, destructive society for the former and a peaceful, benevolent society for the latter, though there could be additional nuances.

Now, just thinking about the particular versions of matriarchy and patriarchy as have been implemented across history to this very day is not the same as thinking that there are no other possible ideological or cultural forms of either.  A matriarchy is only a society where women are given positions of leadership or prominence simply because they are women; a patriarchy is only a society where men are given positions of leadership or prominence simly because they are men.  There is nothing else that makes a particular culture matriarchal or patriarchal, no matter how different they are from popular ideas or historical norms.  Since most people are thoroughly irrationalistic, they would never realize even the more obvious tenets of true egalitarianism (that it does not and could not logically follow from having certain genitals or bodily structure that one has certain psychological traits) even if they were given all the time in the world to voluntarily bow to logical truths.

A matriarchy could have existed or could come into existence where men are expected to be regularly sexually assaulted by women, where women are both encouraged and discouraged to be sexually abusive all at once and have their own sexual tenderness and potential to be victims denied.  Such a matriarchy might come into being one day, and it would only be one of many ways a matriarchy could have manifested.  A patriarchy could have existed could come into existence where men are treated as the more peaceful gender and thus more deserving than women of holding roles of leadership, which would only be a falsity that is only different than its contemporary counterpart in what gender it prioritizes and which one it demonizes--and thus is irrational and unjust for the exact same reasons.  There are people who actually think that matriarchy or patriarchy are rational or just because one gender is intellectually, morally, or emotionally superior to the other, holding to what are ultimately the same fallacies and hypocrisies as their non-egalitarian opposites.

Since the very philosophical foundations of either or any type of complementarianism are intrinsically false, any idea that hinges on them is by necessity also false.  It is a foundational, vital truth that there is no such thing as any trait that a person could have because of their gender except for the very physical (anatomical and physiological) characteristics that make someone male or female.  This is not something that merely happened to be the case: it is a logically necessary truth, just as it could never be true that someone having a certain skin color dictates their worldview, intellect, personality, desires, or talents.  These things would always by sheer logical necessity a matter of individualism or cultural conditioning, irrelevant factors.  Having a certain bodily appearance does not have any more significance than that.  One ramification of this is that there can be no such thing as a patriarchal or matriarchal system that survives across millennia and geographical dispersals unless a great number of both men and women believe in, love, or are content with it.

The people who allow this to happen, perhaps while actively, directly endorsing it, are all hypocritical, unjust, inherently irrationalistic people who uphold societies based on concepts that are logically impossible in themselves.  Though individual men and women can identify and resist these fallacies and the actions that express devotion to them, collective societies would never have held on to such stupidity for so long without these untruths having a popularity that transcends support from one gender or the other.  Moreover, there is not just one gender that even specific stereotypes like pressuring only women to pursue sexiness or only men to pursue economic security hurts.  Each of these stereotypes wounds both women and men so deeply that people are often unwilling to confront just how utterly asinine and dehumanizing they are.  Complementarian men and women alike cheer for their own degradation, dismissal, and slavery as they desperately or stupidly convince themselves that they are doing precisely the opposite.  Whatever its form, whatever particular form a matriarch or patriarchy might take, complementarian societies are opposed to reality itself, for they are built on concepts that contradict the necessary truths of reason.

Logic, people.  It is very fucking helpful.
